Co-founded at USC’s pioneering Annenberg Program on Online Communities in 2009, Stroome officially came out of private beta at a launch event held at the Annenberg School for Communication & Journalism on 4/21/10. Over a dozen articles were written with press mentions appearing on over 100 blogs in less than 5 days.

Then on June 16, 2010, Stroome beat out over 2,500 applicants to win a 2010 Knight News Challenge grant. Again, Stroome began popping up across Internet on blogs, website and discussion groups dedicated to social media.

And to think it all started in a parking lot at USC.
